Music Video Production in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale has a music scene that rarely gets the credit it deserves. Hip hop, Latin, dancehall, EDM, and rock artists work out of studios from Dania Beach to Pompano, and the city offers locations that make a video look expensive without a Los Angeles budget. The problem is that many artists book a videographer, shoot a weekend, and end up with something that looks like everyone else’s release.

A music video should sound and feel like the record. That takes a treatment, a visual world, and a team that knows how to move fast on set without losing the look. We are Live Global Studios, a full-service production company on Miami Beach, and this is how we approach music videos for artists and labels working in Broward County.

Start with the treatment, not the camera

Before we pick a location or a lens, we listen to the track. We ask what the song is about, who the artist is becoming, and what the audience should feel in the first five seconds. From there we write a treatment that covers the story, the wardrobe, the palette, the shot list, and the performance moments.

This step saves money. Artists who skip it burn shoot hours figuring out ideas on the day. Artists who do it arrive with a plan, and the crew spends the day capturing instead of deciding.

Locations that work around Fort Lauderdale

The city gives you range inside a twenty minute drive. Las Olas Boulevard offers polished street scenes, boutique storefronts, and a clean luxury feel. The New River and the Intracoastal give you yachts, docks, and water at golden hour. Fort Lauderdale Beach has the classic wave wall and palm lined stretch of A1A. Downtown has parking garages, rooftops, and glass towers for harder, more urban looks. For grittier textures, the industrial pockets near the airport and the railroad corridor deliver warehouses and brick.

Permits matter. Public beaches, parks, and city streets often require film permits and sometimes insurance certificates. We handle that in pre-production so your shoot day is not interrupted by a surprise conversation with a park ranger.

When the studio is the smarter move

Not every video needs a location. Performance clips, dance sets, and stylized concepts often look better in a controlled space where we own the lighting. The Chat Room, our Miami Beach studio, has four sets and gives us full control over light, sound, and schedule. We can build a clean cyclorama, a warm lounge, or a moody dark set and keep the day moving no matter what the weather does.

Many artists mix both. We shoot the story on location, then stack performance footage in the studio. The edit blends them into one world.

The crew and the finish

Every booking includes a director, a director of photography, an audio engineer, and a producer. The audio engineer matters more than people expect, because playback sync, clean ambient capture, and on-set monitoring keep the performance tight. In post we handle editing, color grading, motion graphics, and visual effects, plus vertical cutdowns for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts so the release does not live or die on one upload.

We can also shoot drone coverage for beach and waterfront scenes, with FAA Part 107 certified pilots.

What a music video costs in South Florida

Budgets vary widely, so here are honest ranges. A single-location performance video with a simple edit often runs from about 3,500 to 8,000 dollars. A narrative or multi-location video with a treatment, wardrobe coordination, a larger crew, and a full color grade commonly runs from 10,000 to 25,000 dollars. High production releases with dancers, vehicles, drone work, and visual effects can exceed that. Social cutdowns, lyric videos, and behind-the-scenes content can be added to any package.

If your budget is tight, we will tell you what to cut and what to protect. Usually that means fewer locations and a stronger concept rather than a weaker finish.

Frequently asked questions

How far ahead should we book?

For most projects, three to four weeks gives us time for a treatment, permits, and casting. Rush shoots are possible when the concept is simple.

Can you shoot at night?

Yes. We bring lighting and plan the schedule around permit rules and noise ordinances.

Do you help with release strategy?

Yes. We can build teaser clips, a release rollout, and ad creative so the video reaches the right audience.

Can you work with my label or manager?

Absolutely. We coordinate approvals, schedules, and deliverables with whoever is involved.
